What are Stock?
Stock a type of property that can be legally owned by persons (e.g. an individual, a corporation etc) and that represents the ownership of a corporation. Corporations can be made up of any number of stock and such stock can, in turn, be owned in any combination by other persons.
Stock are issued from the authorized capital of a corporation, which may be an unlimited or finite number of stock (although this varies from jurisdiction to jurisdictions and not all jurisdictions allow for the authorization of an unlimited number of shares), as described in the corporations Articles of Incorporation, Constating documents or Charter.
